Seek Foundation, a dedicated NGO focusing on women empowerment and child development, has embarked on a new project aimed at improving the livelihood of tribal communities in Nilgiri district. Our staff visited the villages of Gudalur, Vadavayal, and Semmanarai, engaging with the local Badaga, Kota,Bania and Toda tribes. This visit is to identify the living condition and the status of their current livelihood.

After visiting the villages, Seek Foundation has partnered with Nilgiri Adivasi Welfare Association (NAWA), to devise a comprehensive plan targeting five key areas to enhance tribal livelihoods:

  • Tribal Health: Initiatives to address Sickle Cell Anemia and other health issues.
  • Housing: Improving living conditions through sustainable housing projects.
  • Education: Providing access to quality education for tribal children.
  • Agriculture: Supporting sustainable agricultural practices to ensure food security.
  • Skill Development: Offering skill training programs to empower tribal members and improve their economic prospects.

Seek Foundation’s long-term commitment aims to create sustainable change and uplift the tribal communities of Nilgiri and Kothagiri. Through this project, we strive to ensure better health, education, and economic stability, fostering a brighter future for these indigenous groups.
